The snowy bonbons cookie recipe is an elegant looking almond flavored cookie that is perfect for wrapping and giving to friends and family around the holidays.
Ingredients
Cookies:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 package (7-8 ounce size) almond paste
Almond Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4-5 teaspoons milk
Topping:
White or colored candy sprinkles or course sugar

Large bowl
Small bowl

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2: In a large bowl, beat flour, butter, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk and vanilla extract with an electric mixer on medium speed.
Step 3: Cut almond paste into 1/2-inch slices; cut each slice into 8 pieces.
Step 4: Shape 1-inch balls around each piece of almond paste. Gently roll to form ball.
Step 5: Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
Step 6: Bake 10-12 minutes or until set and bottoms are slightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet and cool for about 30 minutes.
Almond Glaze:
Step 1: In a small bowl, mix all frosting ingredients with spoon until smooth.
Step 2: Dip tops of cookie into frosting. Sprinkle with topping of choice.
These cookies look great in silver minicup cake liners.
Makes 40 cookies.
