The Florentines cookie recipe combines classic Italian ingredients resulting in a chewy, lacy, fruit filled cookie!
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup salted butter
2 tablespoons milk
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups assorted candied fruit, chopped
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Line cookie sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
Step 3: In 2 –quart saucepan, melt butter.
Step 4: Stir in honey, sugar, and milk. Remove from heat.
Step 5: Stir in flour. Return to heat, stirring constantly, cook until mixture thickens, about 3-6 minutes.
Step 6: Remove from heat. Stir in candied fruit.
Step 7: Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to cooling surface.
