Chocolate Spritz Cookie Recipe

The chocolate spritz cookie recipe is based on modifying a traditional cookie by adding chocolate. You can’t go wrong there!

 

Ingredients
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened
2/3 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Colored sprinkles (optional)

Hardware
Whisk
Large bowl
Medium bowl
Cookie sheets
Cookie press (star shaped tip)
Mixer

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, and salt; set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Gradually add flour mixture, beating until well blended.
Step 5: Fill cookie press with dough, using a star tip, press dough onto ungreased cookie sheets 1 1/2 inches apart. Garnish with sprinkles if desired.
Step 6: Bake 5-7 minutes or just until set. Immediately transfer cookies to cooling surface.

Makes 48 cookies.
