The almond toffee squares cookie recipe blends chocolate toffee bits and almonds together for a rich flavorful treat! Accompanied with coffee or tea, these are great for serving to guests!
Ingredients
Cookie Crust:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, cold
Topping:
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (6 ounce) package milk chocolate toffee bits
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Hardware
2 x medium bowls
13x9x2-inch baking pan Mixer
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine flour sugar and 1/4 cup sliced almonds.
Step 3: Cut in cold butter until mixture is crumbly.
Step 4: Press into ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Step 5: Bake for 15 minutes.
Step 6: Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, toffee bits, egg, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer set on medium speed.
Step 7: Pour over hot, partially baked crust.
Step 8: Top with remaining 1/2 cup sliced almonds.
Step 9: Continue baking for 23-27 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
Makes 48 squares.
